Wisconsin Digs MISoft?

To our small handful of fans, the words "Play it like you mean it!" make them instantly think of MISoft Studios . Apparently, the state of Wisconsin is cashing in on our slogan now, too. The state's former motto, "Life's So Good," was decidely lame, and so the state's most brilliant cheese-addicted minds came up with "Live like you mean it" as their new state motto. Sounds pretty catchy, doesn't it?

Are we really upset that the state of Wisconsin is clearly basing their new motto on the MISoft Studios slogan? Not really. We don't even really think we inspired it, to be honest... we just think it's a funny coincidence . Of course, this is the part where we learn that one of you regulars actually works in the Wisconsin motto-making department, and heartlessly stole our slogan to make Wisconsin a more appealing place to visit. If that's the case, we'll sue for loads of money, and a lifetime supply of individually-wrapped sandwich cheese slices. That is, of course, if they make that in Wisconsin. They must, right?

Aspectus comes to MISoft Studios

In the past few years, MISoft Studios has been approached by a number of independent developers interested in having us publish their games and applications. We've had some very interesting propositions, but we've always turned them down because we didn't have the resources to publish someone else's work... Until now.

Aspectus is a 2D AND 3D storyboarding tool for use in everything from television commercials to games to AAA film production. It boasts an incredibly simple user interface and the videos on youtube are nothing short of extraordinary. This program has so many features that we can't even begin to list them here. We've been in negotiations with the developer for quite some time, and we're pleased to announce that contracts are in the mail, and pending acceptance of the final terms, MISoft Studios will be publishing Aspectus in the very near future. Cool, innit?

This is the first publishing deal we've accepted, and everyone at MISoft is extremely excited about the prospects of this software. It has a wide range of applications in a vast number of media-related fields, and from what we've seen of the demo, it's extremely intuitive and clever. Keep an eye on MINet as we launch a new website for Aspectus, and post more news as it becomes available!

Newsletter Issue 3

Well, we're a day late again, but the newsletter got out. Sorry about the delay! Anyhow, down to business. The newsletter covers some interesting info about the state of our current project Real Estate Magnate as well as some more information about Eternal Equinox II!

If you haven't subscribed to our newsletter yet, well what are you waiting for. Head on over here and do it!

If you'd prefer not to subscribe, but you'd still like to check our the newsletter, you can always view the newsletters in our archive here at MINet. Check it out!

Yes, we're still alive!

Woot, an update! We've seen a few forum threads and emails recently asking if we're still, you know, alive and such. The answer is yes, though we're all still convinced Colin is one-quarter zombie. We haven't been doing updates lately because we've been seriously cramming to get the four games on our roster finished and released. We're also about to switch webhosts, but I'll get to that in a moment.

We have quite a bit to apologize for. First, we missed the Capital Punishment release deadline of July 4th. We're sorry! And more bad news, we might have to push one or (gasp!) two of our games into an early 2009 release. We've had a number of unforseen issues arise during the development of our games... Stuff happens, you know? As a result, we might end up being forced into releasing one or even two games in 2009. Our full priorities are on releasing Real Estate Magnate and Capital Punishment in 2008. We're going to try and get Redemption 9mm or the still-secret Starving Fox released as well if possible. At any rate, we're genuinely sorry for the delays, but rest assured we're getting stuff done

Another quick update for you: MINet will have some downtime this month, as our web team (Adam, Rami, and a day-old pizza) prepare the site for a move to a brand-spankin' new server. Why are we making the move? We have some major plans in the not-so-distant future for MINet, including a free file hosting service, and the long-planned "MIStore" system that will track your purchases and registration keys. Oh, and it'll let you buy nifty MISoft merchandise, too . We'll let you know when MINet will be down, but if you come here and the site isn't working, don't be too surprised

The next quarterly MISoft newsletter will be released on or around August 10th, so if you haven't signed up to recieve your free copy yet, this is a great time to do so!
